Ronak’s Love/Hate list for Week 10

On Fridays I will be submitting a Love/Hate list for Fantasy Football. These will be my opinions on Quarterbacks and Running backs (and occasionally flex’s) that I believe will tank or flourish in the week.

Quarterbacks that I love this week:

Matthew Stafford (Detroit Lions) vs. Cle

  • First of all, the Lions are somewhat hot after a big division win over my favorite team the Packers.
  • They are heading into Cleveland, one of the worst franchises since the turn of the century
  • Their woes on offense and against the pass have not let up, however they are 9th in the league against the run meaning Abdullah will get less touches and the air game will be used very frequently throughout the game.
  • Personally I have him and I am starting him without a doubt

Josh McCown (New York Jets) @TB

  • Josh McCown is a surprising breakthrough fantasy QB.
    • He is averaging over 18 fppg since week 5.
    • McCown hasn’t finished without a passing TD since week 4
  • He has a decent TD-Int ratio of 13-7
    • Since week 5 it has been 10-4
  • He is a solid start against a very shaky Buccaneers Pass Defense

Quarterbacks that I hate this week:

Drew Brees (New Orleans Saints) @BUF

  • Brees is definitely a Hall of Fame candidate, but this week he is playing a top 5 pass defense.
  • The Bills this year have allowed 12.3 fppg to opposing QB’s which include Cam Newton, Matt Ryan, Derek Carr, and Jameis Winston.
  • This Bills roster has allowed only 8 TDs all season, but they have 17 TAKEAWAYS!

Philip Rivers (Los Angeles Chargers) @Jax

  • Rivers is not the greatest fantasy quarterback this year, but he has put up decent streaming numbers.
  • He has a 13-7 TD-Int ratio
  • He is also averaging only 15.6 fppg since week 4.
  • Rivers is a must bench this week.

Running backs that I love this week:

Leonard Fournette (Jacksonville Jaguars) vs. LAC

  • After missing last week because of a violation of team rules, Fournette is set to have a big game.
  • Fournette is one of the many rookies having a great season.
    • He is averaging 99.3 scrimmage yards per game
    • He is 3rd in the league with 6 TDs behind only Todd Gurley and Zeke Elliot (who is finally suspended) who both have 7.

Melvin Gordon (Los Angeles Chargers) @Jax

  • Backs against the Jags have scored at least 8 fppg this season.
  • Melvin Gordon is averaging 14.5 fppg this season while only scoring a limited number of TDs.
    • The Jaguars allow 124.9 RUSHING yards per game
      • This is going to be great for Gordon, even though the Jaguars have only  allowed 6 TDs this season, but that is still a good amount to bet on.
    • Gordon is a must start this week.

Running backs that I hate this week:

Chris Thompson (Washington Redskins) vs. Vikings

  • Thompson has emerged this season that he is one of the most versatile backs in the league. He is not quite David Johnson level.
  • The big thing about Thompson this year is that when he cannot get it done on the ground, he gets it done in the air.
  • Thompson is the 9th ranked RB in non-PPR leagues averaging 11.1 points per game.

Mark Ingram/Alvin Kamara (New Orleans Saints) @Buf

  • The Saints have 122.8 rushing ypg, 8 TDs, and 28.5 attempts per game.
    • The 2 backs in New Orleans have become one of the best 1-2 back field punches in the league.
    • Both backs are playing good football with Ingram getting more touches out of the backfield and in the air, but getting decent production.
  • The Bills have been able to control opposing RBs this season allowing only 94.4 rushing yards per game.
  • Ingram and Kamara are strong flex options this week but nothing more.

Tune in next week for my Love/Hate list for Week 11

*This is based on non-PPR scoring*
